 Synopsis: John Worthing is determined to marry Gwendolen, much to her mother's horror.

 He hasn't told her that his real name is Jack and he only pretends to be Earnest in the city. 

 When his friend Algernon travels to the country as his pretend wicked brother Earnest

 in order to meet Jack's young ward, things start to get complicated and manners are tested.
